‘Crocs snaps back with hot new styles and sales of $800m’ says the Guardian who featured an article about the company last Sunday.

Reflecting on the past of the company, ‘Crocs-mania’ which reached its peak in 2007 with $847m, followed by a ‘collapse in demand’ and some difficult times.

‘Now the company has a new boss, new designs and claims to indestructibility.’ Crocs is going strong again with ‘sales of more than $800m’ predicted for this year.

‘Crocs has moulded its patented foam resin, “Croslite”, into over 200 different styles, including flip-flops, “Crocassins”, high heels, and now trainers that he claims are one-sixth of the weight of a pair of Converse trainers.’

‘Crocs’ latest products include a kids’ translucent range that changes colour in the sun, as well as Tone shoes, which claim to exercise your muscles. Similar designs, which often have thick soles, make Crocs’ versions look as dainty as a pair of Jimmy Choos.’

John McCarvel, chief executive of Crocs, explains: ‘”It’s about getting people to understand that we are more than a clog.”‘

‘”People say ‘I hardly see your shoes any more,’” continues McCarvel. “I say ‘That’s amazing – I see them all the time.”‘
